At the risk of being completely wrong I will risk throwing this out there...mainly cause I am sick of trawling through liars bulldust...no interest in listening to cliched schemes to self enrichment...
All this talk about black empowerment in the industry will finish with...
The same REAL victims of the past still sitting with the same lot, if not worse lot.... but they will be the pawns to prop up the heart wrenching stories of sufferings of past and zero opportunities for the future...
While a handful of fat necked black bigots will drive the latest fancy cars and drink fancy whiskey on the backs of the poor black sods they meant to be championing...
And of course industry suffers.....
Ubuntu se moer... its called 'naai your maatjie' in the real world...

@gjmurrell:
'I thought you were supposed to be taking it easy Umlilo!
This will only get your blood pressure up'
Tnx Greg!
Feeling much better though a little weak in the legs, and short of breath; will get there again!
However, in the wake of all this bull (horse) shit, history will record that I did not stay silent.
Who are all these 'experts' that are making such misleading statements from thumb-suck?
Threats were made against Jabu Molekethi that if he does sanction corporatisaion in terms of the Gambling Board's stipulation on meaningful transformation and opening the industry to all stakeholders, they will walk out and shut the industry.... with thousands of black grooms and workers losing their jobs. That was their modus operandi in getting what they wanted... a handful of elitists!
I challenge anyone to dispute this account. Besides, some of them mocked Jabu, the GGB members and even Legislature that these were 'idiots' who knew nothing about horseracing; that remark was made at a meeting and Mr O Ferraris will confirm.
Sarcastic comments like 'They will eat the bloody horses in Soweto if we give them!' etc, were made with great relish and delight!
Made me wonder if Mr Richard Maponya (at one time a leading black owner), slaughtered and ate up his horses when he quit the industry!
At the end of the day, whether black, white or brown, the industry needs a broader, active base of participants as owners, trainers, officials, etc for its sustenance and survival. To bring up the race card per se each time there is this suggestion of the practical solution of bringing in the large number of black punters and be met with an onslaught of condemnation is a deviant and devious exercise!
@hibs:
will forward your request to Phindi.
