FH it does not matter whether you think Mr Irwin is right or wrong, we in SA need people like him to support us and not chase them away. Compromises are there to be made to accomodate everyone to help the industry grow. We need the big and the small people equally.

Harry, there is no such thing as a typical American and I am not a typical anything. You are a case of arrested development with the intellectual scope of a gnat.

I recieved a reply to my email. Apparently we do have some valid points especially to the time wasting that takes place. It is believed that the sales time could be halved by introducing these new rules.
1) Breeders to put up minimum reserves by 9am the day before the sale. They will be charged commision on this amount in the event of the horse not being sold.
2)Auctioneers to start bidding at 80% of the reserve. Sellers to be behind the rostrum in case they want to accept any bid.
3) Paddles(or some sort of identification method) to be used so people can see that the auctioneer is not shill bidding.
4) The name of the underbidder will now also be shown to aid transparency.
5) The Auctioneer will be told to get straight on with the bidding when the horse enters the ring and not go through the whole preamble of how good looking the horse is and who it is related too. We can all read and if we buying we have made our own mind up about the horse already. What they say then is not going to change anything.A maximum time in the ring is being worked out.
They welcome any ideas as to how they can improve the sale and make it work quicker and more slickly.

Flash Harry does not appear to get the irony in that he is doing exactly what he accuses Barry of doing.>:D< He also doesn't seem to get that his car runs on oil, too.
