Skitt Skizzle had a difficult task here against very good horses. I thought he ran a cracking race and was running on well at the finish. Over 1400 meters off this rating will be hard to beat. Tarry said he hadn't worked him much since his maiden win and hadn't come on from his debut, you could see he was still green. I can see him coming on well from here and will go close next time out. I think he is correctly weighted.

I don't get how some of you guys can say it was a bad run or a bad ride?!?!!?
The horse made it's debut over 1200m at the VAAL, quite a bit slower (the track) that the lightning quick turffontein 1100m!!! (Not quite as quick as the old germiston 1000m though ;)

In his debut he sat just off the blind school, took up the running with 500m to go and stretched clear.

NOW he is pitched in against some speed horses over a fast 1100m. He actually did well to sit only 3 or so lengths from the front. When the race started in earnest he was caught flat footed as I PROMISE you this is not a 5 1/2 or 6 furlong horse for that matter. He still ran on well for 4th.

Cut this fella a break boys, nothing wrong with the way he ran, even at these weights.

The run of the race (apart from Orange's little champ) was Midnight Serenade. At those weights he should have been lucky to get within 4 lengths of the winner!

Well done Orange btw!!! ;)

Imo Skitt Skizzle was accurately rated a 84 and ran accordingly, he had no chance to beat the first three.....and the right horse won the race.

So how did the bookies get it so wrong ? For the record I backed Legal at 11/1 on HB... and if you read the race day thread Greg and a few others were all on it. So why was he freely available at double figures ??

The fact is the market got that race completely wrong. It happens often enough and means nothing after the event.

From what i have seen over its first two runs is that the horse is definitely looking for 14-1600m, maybe even more..big long loping stride and still very green.
