Zzzzzzzzzzzz....Trainer At Work

I think we still do our earlier than most, but I can'r complain as it allows us to print books and get them into the shops in good time. However, from a purely racing point of view, even four days before is arguably a bit too much.

There again, I suppose that's what reserve runners are for.

Magic I think it would be a logistical nightmare for reasons that you highlighted among others if we did it any later..

Agreed. It's okay in countries with daily racing newspapers to do declarations 48 hours in advance, but here we have the culture of "race cards" and not enough racing to justiify a daily publication like the Racing Post, Daily Racing Form, Paris Turf, etc. So for logistical reasons we need to gvet the info out well ahead of race day.
