i have just lost a dog that was on prednisone for about two years - she needed the drug as she had an autoimmune disease - her kidneys packed in and she developed stomach ulcers - i'm no chemist but seeing the damage that my dog went through please don't give your horse steriods unless they need them for health reasons not to bulk up -

The ostriches don't want to know, they do not know how to handle the scandal.
The skulldugery has little to do with doping but other issues in the racing industry.
There is no place nor grace for whistle blowers, no hero status either and as they
say in the classics-the show must go on. I doubt if this thread, website or key racing
people will ever get any sort of comment from the NHA. What I can confirm is that
some house keeping outside the NHA is taking place as a good few people that were
involved with dodgy practices have witnessed the power of the blogg and have cleaned
up their acts for fear of being fingered.

More than one confirmed of hearing there 'were' originally 'MULTIPLE' positives, this also coming from within. Who says this may still not come up? Seems to be lot more to this. Was there not a KZN trainer who looked after the string, could shed some light on this too.

Imagine the predicament of the NHA having to disqualify a graded race winner!!!!!
Or simply admitting that using STERIODS is OK!!!!!

A few decades ago Kwiktan was disqualified after skating clear in the SA Derby. Kwiktan was trained by Heming.

Not sure it was drugs? did Jean not have lions maybe she used in her training method to make them skate clear?

mrs heming was caught and fined many times for doping in distance races.i didnt follow tvl racing but im sure i read abt it in newspapers.r van wyk was a jock she used often and wen the money was down it was pay pay.

This is the real crux of the problem of steriods and race doping.....breeders in the day would never touch race mares from Mrs Hemming or Barnard because they were f@cked....our studbooks are filled with bigger zeros where other grand racemares with tons of black type failed to produce in breeding barns......:S...some people were convinced that RSA is a gr8 place to buy drug free bloodstock and now the lid is coming off the pot....:

Why not accept that future race horses will all be chemical engineered machines.
It is like a tunami, we cannot stop it.
This does not imply I agree with the chemical engineering of race horses.
