A young Justin Snaith did a stint with St. John Gray
and worked for free. There is no real money in the game
as an employee and the only way to get paid is to train by
yourself, win and take % of the stakes.Stable employee's
and assistants get a crappy deal.

I think young Chesney van Zyl can be added to the list. He seems to have a very bright future.

so what you are saying is that Justin Snaith and his old boss St John Gray have done lunar laps....both were some one else's stable employee's and had they not taken out trainers licences they would have done WHAT....David Ferraris forged out on his own depite daddy trying to hold on to him had he not he may have been soured 20 years ago...and what if Ricky Howard-Ginsberg did not drop dead while MDK was assisting at the time....or remained an assistant trainer....better that he took out a licence not so...

Agree with Pirates. 95% is the horse so the better the horses the better the assistant or the trainer will look.

Anyone know who the young up and comming horse punters are? There seem to be so many young pokerstars out there, why not any young horse players?
