I agree with most observations - just maybe to question if the Princess would not perhaps improve over more ground? She is out of a Rakeen mare after all? At least worth a try imo.
Also agree that the Queens Plate could be a better option than the Derby for Variety Club - although I haven't checked his damline for stamina. If he does go for the QP with What A Winter then it is going to be another cracker of a race - which it will be anyway even if VC and WaW give it a miss.

Some great races to look forward to over the next couple of months in the Cape, have only made a plan for the Met, the rest it's armchair and tv

Got to agree Frodo the Queens plate will take some winning this season.
What a line up . Tales of bravery , Past master , Bravura , Emerald Beauty ,Emerald cove , Solo traveler Link man Gibralter blue and i'm sure i've missed a couple .
Link man is on show tomorrow lets see how he does . This issue with export protocols has made this current season very interesting indeed !

Seems everyone is missing Ebony Flyer from the Queens Plate. What a great run over the 1200m.......so EB will be a huge runner in the Queens Plate

Was bullish on the filly a week before the race but
in the canter past she seemed to have lost her gloss,
she's had a long season following up from her KZN
2yr old feats and this race was very close to the
fillies guineas... despite this she ran a creditable
race and no doubt will feature again in the up-coming
Cape fillies classics....
On VC...Joey seems to believe this horse works like a
10 furlong type and he may take a stab at the derby...:
