I understand pacifiers are like blinkers but only with slits whereas blinkers are open cups.
A noseband. For those horses who carry their heads down - I understand that a nose band helps to keep up the horse's head by making the horse look up.
And a headband? Ferraris likes to use these, not sure why.

....since Chippy aready answered the cheek piece question....the pacifiers are a set of steel/plastic gause(similar to fly screen material)eye pieces and look like blinkers, they are to limit refractive light to the eye and stop or limit the highly strung horse from "spooking" to rapid movements which it see's as a blur....big no no is to use these in on sand where kick back can totally block the vision and when it is raining under lights....in these conditions the horse cannot see at all....
