I might get egg all over me ! Two weeks ago i really fancied Ilsanpietro , he was my first choice . I know the rain will make the race more of a stamina test ,the problem is that Ilsanpietro has done best on good and gd to firm ground . He got beat in the soft in the gold cup , caradoc cup and just won the Aquanaut only to loose the race in the boardroom .
Imo he's best performance's have been in better ground . Due to the intermittent rain at turffies i'm not having a punt on the nose .
If Igugu was in the race carrying say 59 kg's , what would her chances be ? anybody?

Let me just say that the only reason I took an early bet on PJ was because Igugu was not in the race, I am sure MDK would rate Igugu better than anything else he has running?

Scotia on a line through Igugu Princess of light can beat Pj and on a line through Two tone Jet Jamboree can beat Pj as well , of course thats on paper and its really close . The positives about the jet and the princess are that both imo ran their career best races in soft conditions . The jet on gold cup day where he won unchallenged beating Ice axe who subsequently won twice (over shorter trips though) and Princess of light when she ran a 5 length 2nd in the oaks to Igugu in sticky conditions .
These are my two for the summer cup . Both will love the conditions both are nicely weighted and the swinger is on !!!
My concerns are that Jet jambo is drifting alarmingly at present for some reason and Felix is on Woodruffs Soul master . Which makes him the stable elect it seems .
Like i said before i hope Striker pull an Echo hawk on them !

If there is not too much rain before the racing starts I don't know how soft it is going to be. Would imagine ground being good to soft at worst.

Scotia, your statement above is what i have been thinking all along. On the run to Igugu, PJ has to have this field for supper. I don't really care what the draw is. He will hopefully sit midfield and then make his move shortly after taking the turn. I am confident he is going to run them down
