I was the one who tipped it on this site when it was 50/1 and was going to win R25 000
Can I now claim my money back.
Any lawyers out there who are willing to go pro bona?
Brett?
let us start a group action and claim our money.
If you punted on the internet your bookmaker should have the records or maybe you still have tickets,
even persons who had p6 can claim if the result is changed and it affected them.
new company act we claim if we can prove that ,
advise if you think I am wrong?
we really should start acting against these people who take our money in cold blood and then afterwards just say sorry and nobody takes responsibility for the actions.

Rubbish!
The trainer is (always) just an agent for the owner(s). Everything he does is on behalf of the owner, and it's a legal relationship with a lodged authority to act on behalf. The trainer and owner are inter-changeable in this instance from a compliance point of view.
Your next idea will be that if the trainer drugs up a horse, why should the owner lose the stake.
The rules don't (and shouldn't) worry about the intent here. Clearly the obligation is for anyone importing an animal to supply all the data, the same as you supply info/passport/visa when you go to another country. The NHRA should then go check, they can't just accept everything as they must protect the industry under their jurisdiction. Why should the onus be on the receiving authority?
No matter whose fault, whether they cheated or made a mistake, they couldn't walk away with the prize-money.
Having said that, what a cock-up by the NHRA.
Very curious as to WHAT the weights error is. Guessing, I would say they fell foul of the minor weight adjustments for runs after the win.

1. Who is in charge of editing the official racecard?
2. Who is responsible for allocating the weights?
3. Who was responsible for upholding the objection?
4. If the trainer knew that the racecard was incorrect why did he not inform the authorities?
and the band played on.
