Important news for the September Daily Tipping Competition...

Thanks to our wonderful sponsors! Here is what I want to do for the September comp, please let me know if you approve.....

-There will be a R50 entrance fee. (If you can't afford that, perhaps she shouldn't be playing horses)

Here are some of the reasons for this. I believe some clansmen have more than one ABC account they use to play in the comps, which gives them an unfair advantage. Now, if they want to play with more than one, they can, but they will have to pay the extra entrance fee. The money will be deposited into my account so that Scotia does not have the headache of tracking payments. You will use your ABC username as the deposit reference. The money will be divided up as follows...

10% (R5 per entry) into a horse racing related charity. (It will be good to give something back.)
20% (R10 per entry) goes to ABC for running and using their platform for running the comps.
70% (R35 per entry) goes to prize money

- Rebuys are allowed

If you have been eliminated, you now can rejoin the competition if you have been eliminated, but you will have to buy in again for R50 and your tips for the month will be reset to zero and your points to 100. Keep in mind though that you need to have at least 12 tips to qualify for our wonderful prizes. I like this rule because I hate it when some of our favourite tipsters get eliminated early.

Even if the prize is boosted to thousands.... to me, it's fun and enjoyable!

It's also a distraction from serious punting where I put my money down willingly.

As a winner of the last knockout (and if I do so again), all my winnings go to the Horse Welfare Unit.

If sponsors are in for mileage, that's their choice and appreciated.

However, asking participants to pay an entrance fee (not that I cannot afford it!) is not on; kills the spirit!

Also want to keep ABC "FREE" for the punters and if any highflyers feel like coming on board GREAT to add to the prize!

i feel clansmen should rather donate to boost the coffers of the kitty than be forced to pay for an entry.....i agree with umlilo it may kill the spirit of the comp!

i'm with Umlilo on this one. I know ppl do put up and sponsor prizes, but if there are no prizes, i will still play to enjoy myself.

IMO R50 not a train smash especially if % going to a good cause...

UD - I am for it as some of the money will go for a good cause and the pools will be good! I don't like the rebuy option. One shot at glory and if you miss you out!

I will go with the majority - good points to be made for both arguments - I agree with the principle that ABC should be 'free' and I think that the number of entrants will drop significantly if an entry fee is required - however supporting a 'good' cause like the National Horse Trust (by the way for those that are not aware, one can nominate the NHT as a beneficiary on the Woolies 'My School' initiative) is a great idea imo - so perhaps the split could be 80% towards the competition and 20% into a 'horse related charity'?

guys y not keep it 'Free' and let those of us that still wana make a contribution do just that!il put up atleast R100 a month for the comp,bt PLZ keep it free as not all punters here have an extra R50...as for prize money???DONT CARE abt that,doing this for bragging rights thats y im winning this month!
