Several people are saying Igugu hasn't beaten anything she cantered in the Classic and Oaks and was well quicker than the boys on both occasions where they raced to the line. All a horse can do is win and win she has won and won well. I agree with Greg and thanks Sportingbet for the generous 7/2 on Galileo's Destiny and I will be putting the some of that on the same horse as cover for the July.

Other the MET field what did Horse Chestnut beat Pablo Zeto who turned out to be a good B division horse.

Pablo Zeta a B Division horse???????
If it wasn't for arguably the GREATEST horse ever to run in SA, then Pablo would have been the best of his generation. He beat everything comfortably into 3rd!!!!!

Pablo Zeta did and after the Classic what did he do? Not train on? Maybe what Horse Chestnut did to Pablo Zeto was the same thing that Secretariat did to Sham. After the Classic Pablo Zeto was a B division horse.

And what a hiding he gave the met field,he went to america and won his us debut impressively,I stand to be corrected but queens consul was a good horse and got slaughtered by horse chestnut
I was in standard nine when horse chestnut debuted,I'll never forget him winning the triple crown, he is my racing hero
I hope a few of us on the site can get involved in the clan syndicate and buy a HC baby

Shrek, he ran 2nd to HC in the following races if memory serves...

1) Graham Beck Stakes
2) Guineas
3) Classic
4) Cape Guineas

So take out HC and Pablo wins each of the aforementioned races EASILY......B division horse, you must be joking right?

For me Horse Chestnut is the best horse I have ever seen. My point is that people are writing Igugu off because she hasn't beaten anything, what more must she do than win well. Ipi Tombe won well in Zim before coming to SA anyone that wrote her off would have dine so to their detriment. We all have our own opinions but to me Igugu is a champion and shouldn't be written off purely because she hasn't beaten anything. We only knew after his 3 year old career that Queens Consol was good how do we know the Emerald Cove and Berry Blaze aren't going to be good.

This July really has several unanswered questions and a lack of collateral form going into the July, I suppose only time will tell how good some of these horses are.

Lets wait for the draws and then revisit this argument. Its not only the fact that she has unproven form against class animals but also because she is carrying a lot of weight for a 3 year old filly.

If she draws 20 the argument is over....best we give it some time!

I think we often get dazzled by the hype of the the July.If I ignore that and use the same rules as I would for any other race,I cannot rate Igugu as even the first 3yr old home.
My only reservation is my respect for MdK otherwise I would be adamant!
