The nail biting duel For the Jockey championship enters it's final two weeks with both Anthony Delpech and Anton Marcus going head to head today at Clairwood. And head to head it was with each jockey riding two winners apiece and one being a dead heat. This pair have certainly livened up racing in the past few weeks by dominating the race meetings with majority of the winners. As we enter the final straight, Delpech has the lead by eight and both jockeys can see the finish line. There is still two weeks to go but the straight is getting shorter. Will Delpech be able to hold on to the lead he has or will Marcus find second gear and come storming close home to win by a head. Maybe a dead heat will be a true reflection of the championship as both have dead heated twice in the past six weeks.
Whatever the outcome, we have been entertained by some brilliant riding by these two top jockeys and we look forward to the next two weeks.
