I just watched the replay of the 2000 Guineas and these are my conclusions:

I posted yesterday that I thought Frankel can NEVER get the Derby distance. After closely watching him run again I am perhaps rethinking my opinion.
He blasted clear but not under urgings from Queally. Tom was sitting motionless. The most impressive thing however was how Frankel, once Queally switched his stick through to the right, seemed to pull clear again over the last 75m or so. Seems like there was a lot more in the tank had he needed it?

Anyway the time recorded was over 2 seconds slower than the race record so it's not like he went at a dizzying pace, the others simply weren't in his class.

Can he win the Derby? I'm not going to commit as if there is something that will find him out, it is the camber at Epsom.......

Perhaps he runs in the Dante in 10 days time and we can find out what he is made of over the 1 1/4 miles.

Wow, what a performance is all I can say!

Frankel in that first half of the mile made me think of old sporting prints of horses racing, before photography showed how the legs really move in the stride ... front legs stretched way forward and back legs way back. You can see why they painted them like that. Jawdropping, eye-popping stuff ... whoof!
