I like Aldo Domeyer as a rider, but why......if your mount starts to shift inward at the furlong marker with a healthy lead would you not change your whip and TRY keep him straight?????
He hung about 25 meters to his left and lost by a head.....................WOW
Anyway I don't really care as I had no bet, but surely he should have given that a better ride? Did he not think the horse was going to hang after breaking wide....running up handy and trying to make all?????

I remember a very senior jockey once saying that trying to change your whip hand that late in the race can make things even worse, presumably as it could break the horse's rhythm. You get to a stage where you basically go balls to the wall and hope for the best.

Fortune, poor ride on LAKE ARTHUR, he's batling to ride a favourite home , maybe thats why Ramsden opted for HATT.
