A real mixed bag on the sand today; some straightforward races followed by some competitive ones and a real stinker in the last; thoughts
R1: Should prove a 2 horse race between Elvis's Silver Specialist and Typical Man; there is a formline that suggests SS should be the right one, but the 1600 might prove a touch sharp for him, and TM also seems to prefer further; Muscle Man unexposed on the sand and is the one that could benefit if the top 2 get going too late.
R2: Maji Moto hard to beat on form - I fancy The Western and Sizzling Guy to fight out second spot.
R3: Zie Zie Gabor overdue to win and surely won't be out of the places - but she always find something to beat her; however I can't find that 'spook'.
R4: Competitive handicapped with some unknown apprentices making it even more difficult; if Courage jumps and goes, he may be difficult to peg back, but for PA purposes it may be wise to stick with the more experienced riders - so RIght Royal Man and Caesour's Heights should be concerned with the finish; for a real roughie to run into the quartet, consider Swing Away - he beat Empire Ruler by 5 lengths in the maidens and ER then ran close to Right Royal Man
R5: I make this a 3 horse race between Kentucky Express, Second World and Saint Pierre, with a slight preference for Second World
R6: I really fancy Mannequin today - I think she might have needed her last run (when just beaten by Candy Cotton). I make Swan Neck (who may prove even better over this 1000) the main danger and Way West Goddess is best in on ratings - but this is based on turf form - so she can win easliy, or run unplaced if she doesn't take to the sand.
R7: Tough close to the JP; Thick as Thieves seems to hold Rampant Jet and could possibly be the right one, but it won't surprise me to see any of the others win this.
R8: 2000 on the sand - there is going to be some real tired ones at the end of this - Turkey Shoot yet to prove he stays, but is out of a staying mare so could see out the trip better than most; for some roughies consider Beebeejay who has run over further on turf earlier in his career and Desert Oil - interesting choice of jock

Just got a call for Elvis; they are about 10 km's from the course; traffic jam (only one lane) and they are hoping to make it on time; so just a word of warning to those making the trip to the 'States' today

Elvis may not be returning to the office today - too shocked about the great tote payout (R4.60 a win I believe)
