Just watched the replay....what a farce of a race.
Ant, Bernard jumped well and was doing it easy in front....Then about 100m after the start he grabbed a hold of the Captain and even though there was NO PACE FROM ANYWHERE ELSE he held onto him all the way around the turn and into the straight. The horse never settled and still ran 2nd.....
If the Bass yard told him to try and settle the horse in running with all due respect they cannot read a race and jockey Fayd'herbe cannot change tactics mid stream.......There was clearly NO PACE IN THE RACE and Captain was drawn wide. Go to the front and win the race man........
I never had a single cent on the race, but imo that was a huge disappointment. Just when I sing this jocks praises on another thread.
VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTING!

not at all ,he gave the horse the run of the race in my opinion...he simplywas no match for the winner...if he rode a shocker then the rest behind him shouldnt have jockey licenses...he never would have beaten the winner

Thanks Tommy , i've got to side with you on this one .The winning time was 103.55 , what a disgrace for for a top division race . That time is fair for a 1700m race . What a joke , and to think the other jocks could not take the initiative .

Thats my point exactly Ant. How can a top jock like Bernard not think for himself and ride the race as he finds it?
Anyway I didn't do money so it doesn't bother me, but bad riding and f$%^ing the public does slightly offend me at best!
