1-2-3-4 in Colorado King is length count.
I think he was our first great export to US. Maybe Hawai after?
Even I couldn't take that pic in '62
Other is Jet Master - Classic Flag. I think it was biggest and smallest horses in the race which should put many preconceptions to bed once again.
Is Star Effort winning the colts guineas, first time a filly did for something like 50 years, or 15 generations.
Interesting to see cars parked infield and all the topsport dressing for TV coverage.
White blinkers is Special Quad, Waterston up..they do look a like Politicians colours. I think he would have won in this field. I recognise 3 sets of colours still around. 3/7 after 20 years isn't bad.
The trophies where awesome bronzes by a Jillian Sulivan, who I saw on facebook did a big Phar Lap in NZ.
I think they should spend a small % of stake money on trophies, it's what you have left once the money long gone.
Not K Neisius on second horse.
Anyone want to try remember (without looking up) who is 2nd and especially who rode?

Jack, I am taking a flier. I am certain I bought this picture from you to hang in the shop many moons back. If it is King Kama with Andrew Fortune up then I still have some memory left in this punch drunk brain, if not well I would not be surprised. Funnily enough I do not have a clue who the rest are.

I think the 3rd horse in Star Effort's race was Supersonic Surprise.

Awesome pics JD !!
How cool to see that shot of Milnerton - and crowds of spectators !!
Like your idea about the bronze trophies too (although with the current stakes reduction, there probably won't be much left over!!).
Charles Faull is running a project to document the history of SA racing - if you are interested in contributing, I am sure he would be interested in your photographs. I can send you his details if you like ?
