For United Supporters on the forum

I am not sure why, but SKYBET has just slashed the odds on United signing Di Maria (2/5 Skybet) and Vidal (1/10).

I have been on viber to Manchester for the last 2 hours.... NO NEWS worth reporting expect that United might give in to Di Maria 120k wage but tabled a reduced 45k bid with RM..

ManP wrote: Di Maria rejects new contract from Real Madrid, good news for Man United.

"Real boss Carlo Ancelotti raised hopes among United fans that winger Di Maria could follow Argentina international team-mate Marcos Rojo to Old Trafford by confirming the winger wants out.

But sources at United suggest that Louis van Gaal is a huge fan of youngster Adnan Januzaj and does not want to cramp his development by bringing in Di Maria, who would cost a club record fee in excess of £40million, especially with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata filling the other attacking positions".

United's priority, despite the arrival of Rojo, is still to further strengthen their defence and midfield, although another Real player Sami Khedira also does not appear to be on their immediate radar with only 10 days left before the transfer window closes".

United need defenders especially in a 3 man defensive set-up...and then good wide players to track back and cover the wide areas in defence...Di Maria is not what United currently need...

Real have bumped the price up to over £65 million. They know United are desperate and any other club who sell to them will bump the value up as well. He is a great player but he cant score goals, run the midfield and defend. After viewing the fixtures in mid June I thought that United would win their first 6 matches in a canter. How happy I am that I was wrong.

Wenger has spent what he is going to for the year. He wont go looking for a striker as he will say that he has that French under 21 Sanago and the Costa Rican Campbell plus Walcott will be back in a week or so. If he can get an unknown 18 year old from some 2nd division French club for a fiver then he will sign him. Wenger is his own worst enemy as he has built Arsenal up then he breaks up the squad and then builds again. He threw away at least 3 Premierships in the last 10 years by selling his top world class players starting with the likes of Edu, Gilberto, Ljunberg, Cole, Nasri , RVP, Toure, Henry, Fabregas, Song, Lehman (then he realised his mistake and brought him back, Sol Campbell, Viera, Wiltord, Kanu, Clichy, Adebayor, Vermealen, Hleb. All these players had at least 2 to 3 years at the very top and some are still playing at the highest level but he in his wisdom choose to let them go

With Man United leaking goals (another 4 tonight), the defence needs to be fixed and then work up the pitch to sort out attack...

Get players who can play 3 at the back otherwise change the system so that the available players can play the system...

Alan Curbishley's analysis of the 3 at the back system and how the available players are adapting to it was spot-on on Sunday post match... :(
