Hope that that storm does not hit as any game decided by DL feels like a hollow win. Rather lose a match over the 50 overs then win it on DL

Over the years the IPL, for me, has been a good indicator for what players should be in our squad and not. See who they didnt consider and who they paid the big bucks for. More times than not they get it right. Interesting !?

Two sides to this.....-

Firstly, I am glad that SA have showed some willingness to throw in a pinch hitter.... But was it needed?

Secondly........ They would NEVER EVER throw in a pinch hitter if we were setting a target..... We were completely on track to win easily and yet we still bring in a pinch hitter.... Russouw should be our no3, besides AB, he is our best striker of a cricket ball and I will put my cock on the block, will score faster than 85% of our batsmen.....

But Russouw is no "all-rounder" like Behardien or Duminy so no chance of him getting into the team unless he takes the place of Wiese...give Wiese a run in the team and he will rise to the level required...

Lol TNaicker.... I honestly believe Wiese deserves to be in the team.... I am by no means having a go at him.... As we previously discussed, a player or 2 do not deserve to be in the team, but are for certain reasons, Russouw, Wiese, Miller deserve to be there..... Maybe the selectors have forgotten that they have also used Russouw to get an over or 2 in.... With Wiese playing, we have 5 bowlers, and if anything needs to happen you have a hugely part time bowler that can give you an over or 2... But, we have 5 bowlers and genuine batsmen.... Each person does their job and it works.... We don't have 4 bowlers and a couple dibbly dobblers that firstly put pressure on our front line bowlers, but also are a garaunteed 70-80 for their 10 overs......

Didn't watch match but saw scorecard on Cricinfo...a genuine all-rounder helps balance the team set-up...rather than the donkey drop bowling "all-rounders" who have been carried in the team because of transformation requirements...

I'm encouraging my daughter to participate in sport but we are avoiding all the team sports that the school offers...so we sticking to swimming, tennis, athletics, chess...ignoring netball, soccer, etc...rugby and cricket not offered to girls in her age group !!
