Swelteringly hot two days ahead, with a headwind. The Friday card is quite challenging, but Saturday a few possible bankers for the pick 6 with a welcome R1m boost.

Race 1 Philosophise good first run and should come on from that. There has been talk about the first timers Bad Hair Day and Pacific Green.
Race 2 A tricky maiden. Bluff on Bluff and Navy Strength good form but the latter has been beaten favourite a few times. Forever Bill a bit inconsistent but his penultimate run very useful. The first timer Axl is supposedly very quick.
race 3 Competitive maiden. Tamil Tiger good draw and consistent form. Not much between Peut Etre Moi, Zippy Over, Miss Greenlight and Raising Quinn. My pick is Miss Greenlight.
Race 4 Zarina if fully fit should win, but cover with Maria Querol.
Race 5 Quite open. Bayberry is best weighted and could pop up even though this trip short of his best. The 3yos Waiting for Summer and Darjeeling are both classy and could upstage the older hard knockers.
race 6 We have Fynbos running- she is fit and well and course and distance suited but a few kg under sufferance so just hoping that she gets some luck from her draw and can maybe sneak a place. Scented Mistress looks very well in at the weights. Jasmine and So Flawless also competitive. This is a huge step up in class for Black Silver so I think she's a false favourite.
race 7 A very competitive race, where again some smart 3yos take on the accomplished older fillies. I'm in the camp of Sound of Warning. Santa Maria a big runner, and Kitty Cat Chat and Capitana look the best of the older fillies. For a lunatic outsider, consider Roll in the Hay- if she is fit and well then is capable of an upset.
Race 8 Looks a field race. I'll go with Sonic Burst as the value ew play.

Philosophise - remember her debut well- small filly - was lost for the first part and had she been a bigger horse would have won - if the f/timers are not 100% she should win

Bar a couple of races, this looks a very difficult card - thoughts:

R1: First-timers rumored to be decent, while both Bonica and Philosophize boast good form - and Share Alike not out of it and looks the each-way value to me at the odds

R2: First-timer Axl findong betting support - looks very competitive again between the likes of Bluff on Bluff, Forever Bill, Navy Strength, Act of Thunder and King of Colts - I think load up even in the PA

R3: Raising Quinn does look the right one, but each-way value imo at the odds is Tamil Tiger ; not a lot between Peut Etre Moi and Zippy Over - I think Raising Quinn should at least make the first 3 for the PA

R4: Zarina best in, but does need to give Marmalisa 6 kgs, so I think it could get close; 3yr-old form to be tested here in the form of Maria Querol - I'm not convinced

R5: Looks very open; 3yr-old Waiting for Summer does get a lot of weight, but only the race will show how the younger horses will fair - again I'm loading up

R6: Competitive F&M handicap where not too many can be ignored - Jasmine is well weighted here and could prove the value

R7: I think not too many that can win this; for me Capitana has a lot going for her and is my first choice; not too sure about the Tarry stable at present and Sound of Warning had to travel, so plenty of doubts for me; lots of talk by the experts about Gimme Dat, but I think Santa Maria is the safer option; Keep the Lights On next best

R8: Tough handicap to close; if I'm still running in the PA, I'd like to have at least 4 and I have included La Folie Douce, Quick Breeze, Winter Fury and L' Ami Jean, who looks the value at the odds

Enjoy B)
