Lovely to see Do It Again out again , will be a great race with Rascallion who should be the fitter of the 2

Played a double :-

R2) Russian Rock X (R4) Do It Again

Russian Rock went down narrowly to smart three year old, Trip Of Fortune, first run back. Trip Of Fortune went on to win the Cape Classic. Next time out, put him in a 1200, was up there up to the 300m and tired finishing 5 and a bit lengths off. Today, peak run, and even if not running to a rating of 119, should be good enough to put this field away.

Based on ratings and their runs in the July, Do It Again should beat Rascallion. The unknown for me, the older horses get, the more unreliable they become, one good run followed by an unexplainable bad one. Do It Again is 7 years old. Rascallion is open to any amount of improvement but it has been 458 days since he last found the winner's enclosure. Admittedly, bumped the best, but I'm not sure he has the heart for a fight. Not without a chance, think Do It Again will win this.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

You have to feel for Russian Rock not gonna be easy to get into the winners enclosure with that jock on top

I see the jockey, of which you have posters plastered of him all over your house, has just 2 rides today. On a mission or trainers don’t like using him?

How pathetic is this card... Such small fields,a really trippy card where no doubt some races won’t have a proper pace. The type of meeting where you can land up backing no winners. If we can’t fill up the fields then they must not run. No use complaining about small pools when you offer a card like this.

Small fields with runners returning from a rest, prepping for bigger races so likely not fully fit now and some may find a way to not get clear runs in the finish...only the jockey will know how to do this !! :(

I'm not taking any bets today...following for the near future...best of luck to fellow Clanners who are rolling the dice...may you come out in the black at the end of the day...
