Was actually winding you up a bit but it's not illegal and IMVHO its the punters choice if he wants to play on the tote but not recommended to play big numbers on a hottie to reduce your own payout rather than fixed odds .

Highly unlikely that there were big bets by only a few punters into this pool (Unless there were some money launderers at play). The pros would have taken the guaranteed margins on with the bookies.The pool was made up of thousands of so called mugs who were left disappointed. Maybe it’s a rounding down issue. The tote should offer a guaranteed minimum. When Black Caviar was winning the Aus totes were guaranteeing a minimum R1.04. Our tote should cover the shortfall to round up to R1.10. IMO They should use the unclaimed winnings to fund this.

Not arguing with you alter and my 100k would cover many punters at a grand or a few grand each and total disappointment that your risk was to zero it's just not FAIR but legal.

We can hope that 4 racing has some innovative plans to change the tote image and install some risk factors from a kitty to give some return for any risk taken 😉
