Drakenstein Stud Farm’s new sire, Kingsbarns
It was recently announced that former Gr1 Racing Post Trophy winner, Kingsbarns, will join the burgeoning South African stallion band. The horse, who recently spent his first season at stud in Ireland, is set to stand at Drakenstein Stud Farm.
As of today bookmakers, in general, will no longer be pricing up ante-post betting and the betting will now only be available on the day of the racemeeting.
Prices will be up at 10h00 sharp at which time claims will be available.

Brandon Lerena – on way home
Ricky Maingard’s stable jockey Brandon Lerena will soon be winging his way home from Mauritius after requesting an early release from his contract.
Lerena, the cousin of soon-to-be-crowned SA champion rider Gavin Lerena, heads the jockey log with 20 winners (a win strike rate of 21,3%) with his countryman and latest Hall Of Famer, Derreck David.

Vaal-based trainer Corne Spies lifted the Zimbabwe Champion Trainer title at Borrowdale Park on Sunday, and also boasts the honour of having been crowned SA Sand Champion trainer this season.
